The Ritual and the Habitual is an exhibit that comprises 44 works of gouache and watercolor on paper, created in 2018 and 2019. This collection is of special interest as it diverts from his better-known work in painting and sculpture, seeking to favor Víctor Hugo’s exploration into artistic interventions on artisanal paper that he obtained at paper factories in San Agustín Etla in Oaxaca. The art features historical figures and monsters from Hollywood culture endowed by the artist with sarcasm and humor. The resulting series are Los Superhéroes (The Superheroes), Los disparatados (The Ridiculous Gang), Los luchadores (The Wrestlers), Juárez Destructor de Monstruos (Juárez Destroyer of Monsters) and others.
